I was frequently asked by my customers where they could get free images or photos for their blog, powerpoint presentations or marketing collaterals.
Honestly, there is no high resolution images and yet free for use openly but the good news is there are some generous websites that offer lower resolution images but their uses are subjected to terms and conditions.
The first website I would recommend is the Microsoft Office
Online website, they have a wide range of excellent photos, clip arts, animations and sound clips. You can browse by media categories or topic categories. However, please read their policies about usage of the images, Microsoft does not allow anybody to resell any of their free images, meaning you could not use their images to create a design or product and then sell them to the masses.

Some of images from these websites are non-commercial use so if you need to have more control over the images, it is advisable to purchase copyrighted image from stock photos websites. One of them is the istockphotos.com, they offer high-resolution, good quality and affordable images, video, flash, sound clips and illustrations. You only need to purchase the image when you need it, there is no monthly subscription required. However, if you need lot of images for your works, it will be more economical to go for monthly subscription, some sites like PhotoSpin allows you unlimited download of high-quality images with just about $1 per day.
These commercial stock images websites also offer free images for download, you can sign up for their newsletter so that you don’t miss out on any of their latest free images.
