Motorsports, although not new to the rest of the world, is still considered a relatively new concept in the motoring fraternity in China.

Most of the motorsports activities (until recent times) were mainly conducted in the province of Guangzhou, which has most of its influence from Hong Kong and Macau.

However, with the recent completion of a high-end Formula 1 race track in Shanghai, motorsports is now becoming an increasingly popular sport among car owners in Shanghai.

Many events has been organized, including local rally races, international races such as the V8 race etc, which has helped raise the enthusiasm and interest level of the local car owners.
